When Elizabeth came to Twinomujuni almost 8 years ago, the little girl had lost both of her parents to AIDS. Her grandfather also died of AIDS. As a result, this girl was left to be taken care of by a relative who also had eight more children to take care of yet she was also jobless.

Elizabeth is now in her third year of high school. She is healthy, happy, doing well in school.  She has stated several different things she would like to be when she "grows up."  Last time I asked her she wanted to be a writer or an artist.  This is very unusual for a Ugandan child, and I hope she continues this line of thinking.  I encouraged her!         April
